My name is Emmy and it is me who have started Pytteliten webshop.
I am a mother of four and we live at the westcoast of Sweden.
The winter of 2007 our lives suddenly changed for ever. We were pregnant with twins and they were due in march but already in november my water broke and a few days later the delivery was unavoidable. Our girls were born at 23 weeks and 5 days. They weighed only 605 grams and 640 grams (1 lb & 5 oz and 1 lb & 6 oz).
Because they were born 17 weeks to early they were not ready to face the world. They had to be put in incubators and their lungs were not mature so they needed help breathing with a respirator. When the girls were only a few days old we got the news that opened the ground under our feet. The girls suffered of cerebral haemorrhage and the future was very uncertain. If they would survive the risk was very big that they were forced to live with a disability of some form.
The girls fought day by day and they went through a lot av difficulties under the beginning of their lives. blood poisoning, infections, heart surgery, inguinal hernia and much more. But finally the day came when we could take the twins home with us. They were four months old and the siblings who were 1 and 3 years old could at last meet their little sisters.
The first critical time was over but our lives were changed for eternity. The girls haemorrhage in their brains had resulted in cerebral palsy and we had early contact with the habilitation team that was another world that we did not know. The diagnoses were not any surprises, yet so difficult to accept. No one could tell how difficult the girls would be disabled and it was only for us to helplessly wait and see.
Today, the girls are four years old and miraculously they keep up with other children the same age, the future is very bright.
I thought it was too hard to find clothes and other things for our premature girls and afterwards I found things that I wished that we had had when they were little. That is why I started this webshop. Now I want to help you parents and kin to find what you are looking for to your special premature baby.
